Mandate & Objectives
The Advocacy Committee will have the following objectives
- To promote the profession of psychology to the public through education activities
- To advocate on behalf of the profession of psychology to policy makers or elected officials on those issues relevant to the profession of psychology.
- To enhance public access to psychological services
- To advice and make recommendation to the APNS executive on issues relevant to the advance and promotion of psychology that merit involvement of the Association in responding to a issue.
The Advocacy Committee shall be comprised of three or more APNS members. Committee members will designate one member as Chair. In addition to these members, one APNS Executive shall be an ex-officio member of the Advocacy committee to facilitate communication between the Advocacy committee and the APNS Executive Board.
