Dr. Kathryn Bell is a registered psychologist in Nova Scotia and a Professor in the Psychology Department at Acadia University.  She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University. Dr. Bell specializes in the assessment and treatment of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma-related conditions, with expertise in the delivery of prolonged exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Exposure-Response Prevention for OCD. Her background also includes training, research, and clinical experience in the areas of interpersonal violence and addictions.

For over 17 years, Dr. Bell has worked in various medical, private practice, and academic settings. She completed training through the National Center for PTSD at the Boston VA Medical Center, working with male combat veterans struggling with PTSD and related conditions. More recently, Dr. Bell worked as a licensed psychologist in Central Ohio assessing and treating a range of anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma-related difficulties in adolescents and adults.

Dr. Bell has a small private practice in Wolfville, Nova Scotia specializing in evidence-based assessment and treatment of adults struggling with various anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and trauma-related conditions. She utilizes cognitive-behavioural (CBT), mindfulness and acceptance-based therapeutic approaches in her practice and works collaboratively with clients in addressing their treatment goals.
