Lindsay specializes in comprehensive psychoeducational assessment services for children, adolescents and adults; and offers therapy to help cultivate positive learning experiences. She also specializes in positive behavioural supports for children and adolescents.
Her experience comes from working as a licenced teacher and psychologist in schools with students, in residential care with justice-involved youth, and as a university professor. Influenced by her work with youth who have experienced complex trauma, Lindsay approaches her services from a whole-person perspective. This includes assessment of cognitive, social/emotional, behavioural, and environmental factors that may be impacting academic success or community transitions. Areas of specific focus may include: school anxiety/refusal; anger management and social skills development; supporting healthy decision-making; strategies for learning disabilities; and career exploration.
By incorporating techniques from different methodologies (e.g. CBT, DBT, EMDR, biofeedback, etc.) Lindsay’s framework focuses on solutions and strengths, and she is happy to work at a developmental level appropriate for each individual. With an expressed commitment to providing respectful care that acknowledges individual identities, she strives to help people feel safe and included in a trusting relationship with open communication about any unique needs for care.
Lindsay strongly believes in providing evidence-based recommendations that can benefit people in a variety of contexts and describes herself as a teacher of skills with the goal of helping others achieve the most success possible!
