Seth offers counseling to children and youth around gender identity especially as it relates to school functioning. Sample topics may include e.g. coming out, managing gender dysphoria, building resilience, and navigating a transition at school. He draws on person-centred, motivational and feminist methodologies. Seth is a transmasculine, able-bodied person with white privilege who lives in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). He looks forward to helping you navigate your own unique gender journey.
Seth has worked as a School Psychologist in Nova Scotia since 2011. In his current position with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, Seth supports students with mental health, behaviour, and learning needs. He has presented on the topic of supporting transgender and gender creative students to school staff including administrative assistants, Social Workers, School Psychologists, teachers and administrators. Seth was recognized as the 2020 recipient of the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia Community Service award for outstanding volunteer service for the 2LGBTQIA+ community. He has provided volunteer services to groups such as the Nova Scotia Rainbow Action Project, the Youth Project, the Nova Scotia Teacher’s Union Equity committee, and the transgender peer support group for adults called ‘First Love Yourself‘.
