My clinical approach is client-centered. I work with clients to help them understand their current situations and needs in a manner that is compassionate and helps them to move forward using various therapeutic modalities. Therapeutic modalities that I utilize include solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive behavioural strategies, play-based therapy and other therapeutic approaches that best fit the clients’ needs and style.
I work with children/youth/young adults with a wide variety of mental health issues as well as with parents who are looking for parenting support.
Although my practice is generalist in nature, I have a particular interest in working with children/youth/young adults who are dealing with their own injury, illness and concussions /post-concussion issues, or who have a parent with physical or mental health issues, to help them find tools to cope with their own (or their parent’s) illness or injury. I regularly work with clients with anxiety and mood difficulties, school issues, and in the areas of stress management, resiliency, self-esteem, personal growth and wellness, mindfulness based skills and dealing with loss and grief.
