About us: Breathe Mindfulness Centre is dedicated to promoting mental, emotional, and physical well-being through an integrative approach that combines the science of psychology with the wisdom of mindfulness.  In an atmosphere of respect, sensitivity and non-judgment, our centre offers a wide range of services including evidence-based counselling and therapy to individuals, couples, and families, psychological assessment services, accredited mindfulness-based group programs, wellness workshops, and therapeutic yoga. Compassion, professionalism, and integrity are central values embodied by the Centre. Our welcoming, serene Centre is nestled in the heart of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, a vibrant and beautiful small town and home to Acadia University.  Wolfville offers the peacefulness of the Annapolis Valley yet is less than an hour away from the city of HRM. There is plenty of free parking on and off-site for both our clients and our team.

Position Overview: To help meet the increased demands of our services, we are seeking qualified mental health practitioners to join our team who believe in a holistic approach to overall well-being and possess the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional therapeutic care to our clients.  As a practitioner, you will provide empirically supported and trauma-sensitive counselling and/or therapy to adults experiencing various mental health and life-related concerns that facilitate enhanced mental and emotional health, healing, and personal growth. Opportunities to provide group programs, workshops, and/or therapeutic yoga that align with the Centre’s values and intentions are also available. Part-time and full-time positions are currently available with flexible day, evening, and/or weekend hours.  The opportunity to have a hybrid schedule (combined virtual and in-person) is also available. We offer our team an opportunity to focus on and grow in their career by providing new referrals, ongoing promotion, comprehensive administrative support, collaborative team support and opportunities to enhance professional and personal skills in the areas of mindfulness and self-compassion. Compensation is fair and competitive.

Qualifications: A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Psychology, Clinical Social Work or a related field is required as is relevant Registration or Eligibility for Registration with our NS provincial regulatory bodies (e.g., NSBEP, NSCSW, NSCCT). Professional Liability Insurance or willingness to obtain insurance is also required. Our new team member(s) will have a keen interest in an individualized, holistic approach to well-being, will embody knowledge and skills that are empirically supported and trauma-sensitive and will be familiar with mindfulness practices and their application in mental health treatment and/or have experience providing complimentary evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and/or Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS).  They will be ethically minded, sensitive to diversity, compassionate, and collaborative in their approach to working with others.
