Cheryl Oxford
Meet Cheryl Oxford (she/her), a Registered Psychologist in private practice who provides trauma recovery & psychological services to adult clients 19 years or older. Her area of specialty is working with individuals seeking to address the ongoing impact of unresolved trauma and related issues. Concerns may include interpersonal difficulties, identity issues, codependency, substance dependence, mood dysregulation, anxiety, complicated grief, & idiopathic chronic pain or illness. She follows the three-phase model of trauma treatment and uses a combination of evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindful-Based Self Compassion (MBSC), EMDR Therapy, Parts Work Therapy, Somatic Psychology, & Polyvagal Theory in her integrative approach.
Cheryl offers workshops and group therapy as alternatives or compliments to individual therapy. She is also a certified yoga teacher (RTY-200) and offers therapeutic, trauma-informed yoga classes as part of her practice.
She fosters healing through trust, sincerity, and evidence-based & complimentary practices. In her free time, Cheryl enjoys rock hounding, swimming, hiking with her dogs, diving, and practicing yoga.
