Dr. Bonnie McNeill works with children, adolescents, and adults with a broad range of mental health concerns. She uses evidence-based treatment approaches, primarily cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), while incorporating strategies from motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioural approaches.

Dr. McNeill has particular specialty area in treating individuals with anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Dr. McNeill also has significant experience treating a variety of other mental health issues, including difficulties with mood / depression, coping with stress, low self-esteem, difficulty managing emotions, suicidal thoughts, psychosis, trichotillomania and skin-picking disorders.

Dr. McNeill completed her undergraduate Psychology studies at Dalhousie University and received her Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed her clinical residency at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. Dr. McNeill worked for 9 years at the IWK Health Centre on the Inpatient Mental Health unit (Garron Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health) and for several years with the IWK OCD Specific Care Clinic. Dr. McNeill has been working in private practice since 2017 and is also an Adjunct Clinical Associate at Dalhousie University.
