Dr. Leslie MacIntyre
Dr. MacIntyre earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Ottawa and her MA/PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of New Brunswick. She completed her residency at the IWK Health Centre, where she later worked in outpatient mental health services before transitioning to private practice. She is currently the co-owner of Aulakh Psychology and Counselling Services Inc.
Dr. MacIntyre has extensive experience providing comprehensive diagnostic assessments and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She has a particular interest in Mental Health and ADHD across the lifespan and is passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals, including those with attention, developmental, and learning differences. Her clinical practice also centers around supporting clients through stressful experiences, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions, as well as engaging with parents to foster connections with their children through emotion-focused family therapy. She provides personalized, strengths-based care that is uniquely adapted to each person’s journey.
Known for her warm, empathic, and collaborative approach, Dr. MacIntyre draws from evidence-based therapies including cognitive-behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and attachment-based approaches, to help clients foster their strengths and navigate life’s challenges. She is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and connected. It is an honour to work alongside clients to foster a deeper understanding of themselves, build on their strengths, and move toward meaningful change.
