Ena Vukatana
Dr Ena Vukatana completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Calgary. She received her clinical training at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, and completed her residency at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax.
Dr Vukatana offers intervention and assessment services. With respect to intervention services, Dr Vukatana views her role in therapy as that of a coach, who strives to help youth and their families to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Dr Vukatana specializes in working with children and adolescents, and offers treatment for challenges related to anxiety, depression, coping with stress or life transitions, low self-esteem, behavioural challenges, and sleep difficulties. She also has expertise in working with youth experiencing challenges with chronic health conditions, medical and dental anxiety, medication taking, and pain. Additionally, Dr Vukatana has a special interest in working with youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder in addressing the aforementioned challenges.
In terms of assessment services, Dr Vukatana provides psychoeducational assessments, and has expertise in the diagnosis of learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and attentional issues. Dr Vukatana’s treatment approach is always evidence-based, and she uses primarily behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and acceptance and commitment therapy approaches.
At the same time, Dr Vukatana recognizes the importance of working collaboratively with her clients and their families to adapt the treatment approaches to best address their goals. She always aims to foster a positive environment where clients feel supported in taking steps toward their goals.
