As you consider making changes in your life, know there is no right or wrong way to start therapy. Past traumas, the uncertain world we live in, and stressful situations eat away at our ability to cope and function. When people get caught in unhelpful patterns it can interfere with them living a meaningful life. Whether you feel lost and overwhelmed or can clearly describe your problems but don’t know how to change them, I will meet you where you are and help you figure out how you wish to move forward. We will work through barriers that keep you stuck and develop ways of coping to build a life worth living. I am honored to work with all individuals and will attend to your intersecting identities with openness and humility. I believe everyone has capacity to heal and grow, my role is to create a space where you are empowered and supported in this process.
I assess and treat depression, anxiety, insomnia, OCD, trauma-related symptoms (e.g., PTSD, complex trauma), stress, interpersonal issues, unexplained physical symptoms (e.g., pain, fatigue), emotion dysregulation, panic, and other emotional and personality difficulties. I am an integrative therapist and will create a personalized plan to meets your needs through evidence-based treatments. I apply principles from Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and use strategies from Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) when appropriate.
I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) in 2022. During my residency, I worked in the Mood Disorders Program and the Medically Unexplained Symptoms Clinic at the NSHealth Residency Program. Since then, I have worked in both community mental health and the private sector.
I offer virtual appointments (over Zoom) at Brightpath Psychology.
