Dr. Jennifer Richards
Dr. Jenn Richards is a registered clinical psychologist who has been described as genuine and down-to-earth. Jenn uses proven, scientific approaches and tailors strategies to each individual. She often uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help adults, teens, kids and parents. Areas of expertise include anxiety (e.g., stress, phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety), parenting difficulties (e.g., supporting your anxious child, disruptive behaviours, ADHD, picky or selective eating), newly diagnosed chronic pain, family and relationship communication difficulties, and sleep problems. Jenn completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Dalhousie University. She previously worked at the IWK in Community Mental Health and Addictions, on the Transgender Health Team, and on a specialized program as Clinical Team Leader. She was also the Senior Scientific Director for an online psychological program (Tranquility). She opened Red Chair Psychology to help adults, youth, and parents access top tier psychological services. She recently served as President for the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS) and sat on the national board for the Council of Professional Associations of Psychologists (CPAP).
