Ms. Marilyn Roberts
I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University and have been providing psychological services since 2001. After working for nine years with IWK Community Mental Health and more than a decade in private practice settings, I established my own private practice in 2021.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioural, and life challenges. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is the primary framework that guides my work. ACT helps clients develop skills to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions more effectively, build psychological flexibility, and move toward a life that is aligned with their values. When working with children, adolescents, and adults, I also incorporate the DNA-V model, a developmental approach based on ACT that helps individuals build self-awareness, resilience, and confidence while responding more effectively to life's challenges.
I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, and other evidence-based approaches when appropriate. My goal is to help clients build resilience, improve well-being, and create lasting change. I provide therapy in a developmentally and culturally sensitive manner and collaborate with other professionals when needed to support comprehensive care.
