Ms. Meaghan Hymers
Meaghan is a Clinical Psychologist (Candidate Register) who is currently accepting new clients. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from the University of Waterloo, where she studied both Psychology and Sexuality, Marriage and Family Studies. She completed her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology at Acadia University. Meaghan has experience working with adults in both Community Mental Health and private practice settings.
Meaghan has training and experience in evidence-based treatment methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT). She aims to work collaboratively with clients to tailor her therapeutic approach to meet their unique needs and goals. Meaghan provides in-person psychotherapy services at Threshold Psychology in Lunenburg for adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and neurodivergence. Meaghan also offers formal assessments for ADHD and mental health diagnostics through Erica Baker Psychological Services in Halifax.
Meaghan strives to take an anti-oppressive and strengths-based approach to her work, informed by understandings of systemic barriers to wellness and de-pathologizing frameworks. It is her goal to provide a non-judgmental space where clients feel safe, valued, and understood. She is particularly committed to facilitating a supportive and affirming environment for neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQ+ clients.
