Andrea holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Acadia University, and completed her undergraduate training at Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including corrections, military, and university health services, as well as private practice.
Andrea’s clinical practice includes providing psychological assessment and therapy to adults facing a range of concerns, including: PTSD/trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stress management, substance use, and relationship issues. She strives to create a comfortable, collaborative, compassionate, and empowering environment in which to foster self-discovery and growth. Her practice is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy; however, in tailoring treatment to each client, she draws on training in other modalities, including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based therapies, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
