Angelina MacLellan takes a collaborative approach to therapy and works with both individuals and couples. She has formal training and experience facilitating treatment for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression and mood issues, behavioural problems, transitional and adjustment concerns (e.g. family separation and educational changes), difficulties managing emotions and relationship issues. Ms. MacLellan has also provided services and can assist with individuals who experience difficulties with self-esteem, substance use, anger management, and those coping with stress (work/school), grief, and trauma. In addition, Ms. MacLellan has extensive experience providing manualized CBT treatment for individuals diagnosed with Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder.
Ms. MacLellan offers evidence-based approaches for individuals with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), depending on the client’s presenting issue and therapy goals. In regards to couples therapy, she is trained in Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT).
Ms. MacLellan holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to graduate school, Ms. MacLellan completed her Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Psychology with a Special Concentration in Forensic Psychology, at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
