Dr. Robyn McClure specializes in helping students overcome academic problems. She treats procrastination, screen time interfering with school (phone, internet and gaming), performance anxiety, fear of failure, public speaking anxiety, test-taking problems, writer’s block, school-based bullying, perfectionism, self-criticism, parental pressure, academic stress and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Dr. McClure also treats various other problems, including anxiety, social anxiety, and depression.

Originally from Annapolis Valley, Dr. McClure graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then achieved distinction as a Killam Laureate during her graduate studies at The University of British Columbia, where she completed two master’s degrees and a PhD. After a decade of training out west, Dr. McClure returned home to her family in Nova Scotia.

She excels at helping clients manage goals and solve problems. Dr. McClure is an expert in supporting young adults in leaving home and finding their independence. Her treatment services are anchored in evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioural, behavioural, motivational and mindfulness-based approaches.

Dr. McClure is skilled at diagnostic, personality and psychoeducational assessments, including complex cases. She assesses traumatic brain injury, concussions, learning disorders (or learning disabilities), epilepsy, genetic disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities and autism (or Asperger’s).
