Are you so anxious that you avoid activities that are really meaningful to you? Do you start to sweat at just the thought of attending a party? Do you worry too much even when things are going well? Is your life organized around avoiding panic attacks? Are you exhausted from frustrating nights spent tossing and turning? Have you been having repetitive unwanted thoughts?
If you have been struggling with anxiety or insomnia, you have probably tried everything you can think of to improve your situation. I can help you to apply evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to your unique situation. I specialize in psychological therapy for anxiety (including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and panic), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and insomnia.
I completed my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University. I have experience in community mental health services and specialty programs for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I am certified in CBT by the Canadian Association of Cognitive & Behavioural Therapies. Using a warm, nonjudgmental approach, I can help you to cultivate the skills necessary for living a richer, fuller life. In person and virtual (videoconference) sessions are available.
