Are you so anxious that you avoid activities that are really meaningful to you? Do you start to sweat at just the thought of attending a party? Do you worry too much even when things are going well? Is your life organized around avoiding panic attacks? Are you feeling so depressed that you can hardly get off of the couch? Do you feel worthless? Are you exhausted from frustrating nights spent tossing and turning?
If you have been struggling with anxiety or depression, you have probably tried everything you can think of to improve your situation. I can help you try differently, not necessarily harder, using evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I specialize in psychological therapy for anxiety (including social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and panic), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and insomnia.
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University. I have experience in community mental health services and specialty programs for anxiety, depression, and insomnia. I am certified in CBT by the Canadian Association of Cognitive & Behavioural Therapies.
Using a warm, nonjudgmental approach, I can help you to cultivate the skills necessary for living a richer, fuller life.
