Paula Winstanley

I am a registered psychologist in private practice, providing individual therapy to adult clients 25 years or older in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, development trauma and infertility. I primarily use EMDR Therapy, an evidenced based approach, as well as provide clients with the tools and techniques to decrease and/or manage challenging and distressing symptoms.

My therapy approach has been shaped by the opportunity to work with physicians, psychiatrists, other professionals, and most importantly, my clients. I offer compassionate, non-judgmental, collaborative counselling tailored to each client’s unique situation and needs. In my years as a psychologist, I have seen that there are many different paths to achieve goals, but the most effective approaches are those that are developed collaboratively with clients.

Many clients come to me looking for ways to manage painful, overwhelming or distressing situations that are impacting their personal life, relationships or career. Others wish to understand the root of their problem and escape the harmful cycle of negative thoughts, emotions and behaviours that has them feeling lost or stuck in their lives.
